    This article from Bloomberg Law discusses the emergence of AI and the law and its potential impact on the paralegal field. Highlighting a project given to paralegal students at George Washington University using AI, it quickly becomes clear that in some way, AI will shake up the legal field. The Illinois legislature recently updated its rules on what legal professionals are required to report to their clients when using AI. With the quickly growing and changing landscape of AI in the world, it is going to be important for all paralegals to stay abreast of any changes to the rules and resources surrounding AI.

    One alarming aspect of the lawsuit abuse problem in Illinois is the burden of the so-called "tort tax" placed on businesses and consumers. This hidden tax, in the form of higher insurance premiums and legal fees, is an enormous financial strain on small businesses like mine. The entire state suffers when we are forced to divert resources away from job creation and innovation to defend against frivolous lawsuits.
