    The Supreme Court partially reversed the Appellate Court and found that the five-year catch-all applies to all subsections. Even though the Supreme Court acknowledged that subsections 15(c) and 15(d) involve “publication,” such that the one-year statute of limitations could be applied, it refused to do so in favor of a unified approach.

    On February 2, 2023, the Illinois Supreme Court laid to rest the longstanding question of whether the statute of limitations for BIPA claims is one year or five years, holding that the five-year “catchall” limit set in Section 13-205 for all civil actions that do not contain a specific statute of limitations applies to all BIPA claims.

    As part of its investigation, Park Forest police reviewed the driver's Illinois Secretary of State records and discovered the individual's Commercial Driver's License and School Bus Driver endorsement had been canceled on Jan. 8, because the driver failed to provide medical exam documents, according to authorities.

    For now, jury selection is still scheduled to begin Monday in the murder trial of Aiden Fucci, the teen accused of killing 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey.

    Circuit Judge Lee Smith on Wednesday denied a motion filed earlier in the day by Fucci’s defense attorney, asking for a delay of his trial and saying she is appealing the judge’s order for a six-member jury to the Fifth District Court of Appeal.
